Golf and bamboo are both passions of ours. To marry the two - into an unbeatable line of men's golf wear - is truly a dream come true.
We first discovered bamboo while living in China, watching construction workers bounce off it 10 stories in the air (it is used for framing high rise buildings). After we realized how fast it replenishes itself (every 3-5 years), and how many things it can be used for (over 1000 documented), I termed it "a tree’s best friend" (since it can help save so many of our forests). From then until now, we have designed and manufactured hundreds of thousands of bamboo items for some of the biggest names in retail. We even have our own bamboo retail stores.
Still, with all the bamboo experience, we never thought bamboo clothing was a possibility.
That wasn't until a few years ago, when we came across a small factory processing bamboo canes into fiber, and spinning it into yarn. We asked why, and the architect, behind the process, lectured for 3 hours on all the benefits bamboo fiber can provide to clothing - from the breathability, to the antibacterial characteristics, to the lightweight feel. It hit us - the perfect golf fiber - but the process wasn’t ready. Now it is, and the results are better than we ever imagined.
